SYNC Creatives: Week 4!

Its Week 4 of the programme!

Our first day, Hrvoje Kondzic began by discussing how we create and maintain support systems for the betterment of one’s physical, mental and emotional health. Relating this to life and work! Benjamin Evans led a focus group with members of the cohort to gain insight into young creatives perspectives of breaking into the art industry. Interesting discussions on what it means to be creative and goals for the future. Tomas Panek leads us through the world of e-commerce and strategies on how to get started, an informative insight!

The next day, Rachael Castell shares mindset hacks for creatives that are starting a business and what it means to be an artist becoming an entrepreneur. Pagan-Lilley Philips introduced us to EDI, equality, diversity and inclusion, and how this can create a more effective and efficient business as well as discussing the idea of ‘Diversity of Thought’. Kim Darragon taught us how to create an effective and optimal website to tell one’s story and invite browsers to become clients.

On our last day, Tee Max led an interesting discussion on what art is, unpacking a complex question by looking at a broad range of artists and asking ourselves what it means to us. Nathalina Harrison helped us understand how to harness our time with great tips on U-I prioritisation and overcoming procrastination. In the afternoon, Lu Williams led zine making at The Dovetail where we learnt the history of zines, what they can be used for and how to make them! The cohort got stuck in and created lovely zines together! In the evening we had a master class on how your business can support communities with Aisha Shaibu-Lenoir, a deep dive into what it means to build relationships and working with communities and how to create longevity with these connections.

The cohort has started preparations for the showcase! This is a celebration of their work and growth on this programme! To find out more info and book your place, click here! https://bit.ly/sync-showcase
