About the artist

Morgan Davy is an autodidact outsider artist based in London, Emerging from the UK hip hop & skateboarding scene in the late 90’s, ‘Morgasmik’ started spray painting early in 2001, and then later started curating shows and running graffiti workshops since around 2006.

Actively painting murals not only in London, but around the world at festivals and with Art residencies in Africa, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Gozo, Madrid, Poland, France, Scotland and many more..

Art collectives that Morgan is part of, or has worked alongside with include; The Minesweeper Collective, Temporary Autonomous Artists, Random Artists, Black Star Caravan, Monorex, End Of The Line Studios, Artcore international, The Nave, Le Cagibi, Too Much Fun Club etc..

Clients include The Royal Automobile Club, Amy Winehouse Foundation, Sony, Adidas, Swatch, Crossfit and various independent businesses.

His memorable and unique style is noteworthy of an intuitively cheerful use of exotic colour combinations, weaved in trails of free flowing rare abstract qualities, customarily tailored in bold technicolored and elaborate wave-like explosions, undulating in energetic shape and form, out of this world yet seemingly fitting to its transient environment.

"Like a sort of hypnagogic supernova all mixed up with Francis Bacon and the brain scans of someone enjoying an orgasm, At one point it seems like a sea of rare chemicals on a distant planet, at another it resembles a monstrous bird. The attention to detail is awesome, ensuring that if you are examining it from three inches away or 10 feet, you get a mighty jolt of aesthetic pleasure. If this style had was a music genre, one could say it’ll be found in the rare ‘Psy-Fidelic' or ‘Surfedelic’ section!”

- Nick Razzo (Daily Mail journalist)

“Almost as if an act of social, or self-therapy, each piece Morgan paints in public, is like an an expressive statement, or a peaceful protest in restoring the value of human potential & faith in the future of Artistic freedom.

Through these creative 'labour of Love’ demonstrations, its almost like a calling for the direction of Art to be more inclusive, free and publicly accessible to wider audiences, whilst giving something back to the community and source of inspiration itself.

His intentions are to become a unique & personal experience to the viewer, stimulating new waves of thought patterns & imagination, inviting them to look within and awaken an inner depth of dormant senses and emotions, whilst breaking down conditioning and preconceived notions the viewer may have along the way, connecting with them through a mutual resonance in our universal language, that is Art.

This is important to Morgan, as he witnesses and is sensitive to the dull lack of transparent creativity and colour usage in societies day-to-day capital. Given this as a motive, he then attempts to restore imbalances he sees by decorating this urban grey matter with his rosy glow of positive colour vitality & free-flowing pattern undulation with aspirational ventures of going global.

…Whilst portraying himself as this happy go lucky ’colourful pattern painter’ in the public eye, that appears to come quite natural to him.

In a way, I think this could be an act of enticement from the Artist, to perhaps lure the more curious of audience through a warmly welcoming 'brightly coloured door’, only to yet to discover that the river of perspective from this truly eclectic and rather eccentric Artist, runs deeper then people would of perhaps yet imagined.. This Artist truly is a fine example of a free-spirit if ever there was one!”
