The Green Entrepreneurs Programme: Week 5 + Pitching!

Our final week of The Green Entrepreneurs Programme! The last few weeks the entrepreneurs have learned from the fantastic industry professionals and experts. Throughout this programme we have covered an incredible amount of content on business planning, marketing and branding guidance, pitching advice, legal and financial support, sustainable awareness and personal development. It's everything you need to feel confident in starting a business! This week's focus is for the cohort to finalise their business ideas and build their pitches for the judging panel from Essex County Council!

We started our week with Phoebe Dodds, Founder of Buro155, shared their career story, advice on freelancing and how to build your dream career. To support the entrepreneurs this week, Hrvoje Konzic, Heart Centred Strategy and Business Development Freelancer,  gathered all learnings from the programme to fully define their missions, visions & values concisely to form a winning pitch. We concluded the programme with Phoebe Dodds on how to use social media to test business ideas using social media metrics and analysing data.

The entrepreneurs had a 1-1 with Matt Miller, Green Sector Development Lead at Essex County Council, to discuss the progression of their business projects and the future support Essex County Council can provide.

Pitching

Essex County Council members Matt Miller, Loretta Hoy, Green Sector Growth Manager, Eve Calderbank, Principal Economic Growth Officer and Tristian Smith, Sector Development and Partnership Manager, were our judging panel for the entrepreneurs pitches!

We were all incredibly impressed by the entrepreneur's pitches! The professionalism and passion was inspiring! We can see the progression the entrepreneurs have made from their first business ideas, using the lean canvas model to build their business structures and to the final week where they can present their plans. It's clear the cohort have really taken onboard all the advice and resources from the programme to execute brilliant pitches!

It has been exciting to see the progress of the future green businesses of Essex! We look forward to seeing the results from the judging panel!
