FAQ:


Q: I’m not based in the boroughs of Hackney/Newham/Tower Hamlets/Waltham Forest, can I still apply?
A: The immersive course is aimed at participants who live, study OR work in the above 4 growth boroughs, however, we may consider applicants from neighbouring boroughs and who have creative business ideas based in the 4 growth boroughs.

Q: What are the timescales of the immersive course?
A: The immersive course starts on Monday 26th February 2024 with an induction day between 11am - 2pm. For the following 6 weeks from Tuesday 27th February, we'll have sessions running every Tuesdays - Thursdays, 10am - 3pm (3 hourly sessions per day with breaks in between). The last day of the course is Thursday 4th April and the final showcase will happen w/c Monday 8th April.

Q: How many hours per week will I be expected to commit to?
A: The total hours of the immersive course is approximately 60 hours and we ask for participants to commit a minimum of 45 hours (75% of attendance).

Q: I’m working/studying full time, can I still apply?
A: It will be difficult as our sessions run during the weekdays between 10am - 3pm. We kindly ask participants to attend sessions as much as possible and to catch up on materials online where possible.

Q: Are sessions mostly online? How many sessions are in person?
A: Most sessions will be online. The only sessions in person are induction day, final showcase and 1 ‘craftier’ workshop per week where you’d need to sign up for as it will be a first come first served basis.

Q: What platform will online sessions be running on?
A: We’ll be using Google Meet for all online sessions with the same link - please ensure you have the equipment, access to internet and a quiet space for this.

Q: Can I catch up on sessions I’ve missed?
A: Yes - you will be able to review recordings and any other materials of the online session on our Notion page. Link to Notion will be provided prior to induction day.

Q: Where will the in person sessions be at?
A: Venues will be in Hackney/Newham/Tower Hamlets/Waltham Forest. We will give more details when you’ve accepted your place on the course.

Q: How can I get my digital badges from the course?
A: After you’ve attended certain sessions, we will provide a link through Badge Nation for you to download your digital badge which can be used on your website & CV’s.

Q: What is expected from me for the final showcase?
A: The final showcase is your opportunity to showcase your work in any format you’d like! This can be printed works, zines or merch you’ve created at our workshops, a presentation of your business idea from your laptop, physical prototypes etc.

Q: Will there be any support during the course, outside of sessions?
A: Of course! If you ever have any questions or feel stuck, you are more than welcome to reach out to the Art Clubbers team or tutors via email. A team member at Art Clubbers will be present during all sessions - we will also schedule 1-1 sessions to discuss your progress and any other support you may need.
